"Mr. Fishy" is his name

Aidan got a fish last week. And let me tell you, he is so ecstatic about Mr. Fishy.
Mr. Fishy is a male beta fish...hopefully he will live a long beautiful life. lol He swims around in his bowl that sits on top of Aidan's table in his room. Aidan loves to feed Mr. Fishy, read books to Mr. Fishy, and tries to go fishing in Mr. Fishy's bowl.
Welcome to the family, Mr. Fishy. :)

Easter Eggs

I
think sometimes I try to rush a lot of my childhood memories on my 2 year old...for instance, dying Easter Eggs.

That is one of my favorite memories as a child during the Easter holiday. Every Easter Mom would have an afternoon for us kids to dye all our Easter eggs that the Easter bunny would hide on Easter Sunday for us to find. She would have all the newspaper spread out with our mugs full of different colored dye. And we would be so creative with our "dying". So we thought they were amazing, they probably weren't the most profesional dyed Easter Eggs, but we had a blast.

Well being the ideal mom that I try to be, I rushed to the store and got a dye kit...which let me tell you, there are SO many to choose from that it was kind of overwhelming. But I picked one up and then proceeded to get our 3 dozen eggs. Get home and we eat dinner and then it's time for our project......First of all, I didn't have any newspaper to spread on the table so I used paper towels....not the greatest, but that's all we had. Get the cups of dye all ready...there is red, green, orange, yellow and blue. The three of us sit in our chairs and then Aidan decides to be a wild man! He is dropping eggs in the cups of dye, taking them out with his hands, putting the dyed egg in his mouth, taking the cups of dye and tipping them over and it's spilling all over the table, trying to squeeze the eggs, etc. It was just a huge mess! Needless to say, we let him dye 3 eggs and then it was time to clean him up and put him to bed. :) I think I should have waited until he's 4. lol I know he had fun, we have pictures to show it. Allan and I ended up having fun dying the rest of the eggs after Aidan went to sleep.

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter! We sure did. Our family from Austin came down and we had a fun filled weekend!

Wow, can't believe I just started this....

After looking at my friend's blog today, I asked myself..."why haven't you started a family blog?" I really should since we moved away from our friends and family last August. So, I decided to start today. :) I know, a little random and months later after our move, but here I go.

So last semester is already a blur. We moved to San Antonio, TX August 5th, 2007. We bought a house and live only 5 miles from Allan's school, St. Mary's University. He is attending Law School, which is a 3 year program. When moving to San Antonio, we decided that it would be a great idea for me to stay at home with Aidan (our now 26 month old son). Last semester we did a lot of traveling....Aidan and I took a trip to Arkansas in October, we got to hang out with all my girlfriends and their kids, we went to a wedding shower for my sister in Mtn. Home, and I also attended my 10 year High School Reunion. Allan and I also went to El Paso, TX in November for my cousin, Andy, and my good friend, Allyson's wedding. Allan and I were both in the wedding and we had a fabulous time with friends and family. And of course I had many of trips back to Austin for birthday's, shower's, wedding planning (for my sister's wedding), and doctor appointments.

We had a fun filled Christmas break....Allan was out of school for 3 weeks, we went back to Austin and stayed with both our families, and we celebrated Aidan's 2nd Birthday party. It was nice to be around our family and our Austin friends. We came back to San Antonio for the New Year, we had a nice relaxing New Year with some friends....dinner, champagne, and games.

January, Allan started his 2nd semester of law school, he turned 28, I got sick and busted my ear drum...again, I finally healed after lots of medication and a couple of weeks in bed, we had my sister's Bachelorette Party, I turned 29, Aidan started a Mother's Day Out program, had some visitors, and I think that wraps up the month. :)

February, Melissa and Chase got MARRIED!! That pretty much was the highlight of our February. Aidan was the ring bearer, Allan was an usher, and I was the Matron of Honor. The wedding weekend was a blast. So many friends and family flew in from all over! It was so good to see everyone. Nothing like a Ferro wedding....good food, great beverages, and fabulous dancing. I think we all lost some lbs that night.

So I think that kind of caught everyone up on the Braxdale's since August. Now my blog is up to date. :)
