Christmas Fun 2008

Finally some time to update our blog!! Let's go back to Christmas. We took Aidan to "Hill Country Christmas" at Schlitterbaun, which was so much fun. We went ice skating, we played in the snow (snow machines of course), we saw thousands of beautiful Christmas lights, we watched Carolers, we visited Santa, we even got ice cream cones from Mrs. Clause's snack shop. Hill Country Christmas is a "must see"...next year we hope to meet our families there for some Christmas fun.

We then headed home to Austin for the Holidays on December 21st...we had a Baptism for Addison to attend. We then spent the week with our families preparing for the big day. I spent a lot of time with my mom baking and finishing up last minute shopping errands. Aidan had fun being around all his uncles and aunt and grandparents. And he was getting very excited about Santa coming to visit.

We celebrated Christmas Eve with Allan's side of the family. Uncle Michael wasn't there this year, he stayed in Florida with his girlfriend....but Mamaw (Allan's grandmother) and Pawpaw (Allan's grandfather) were there. So it was nice to see them and get to visit. It was a beautiful day so we played outside and prepared a yummy feast for that evening. After a delicious dinner, opening presents, and having a wonderful visit, we headed over to my family's casa.

Aidan got a plate of cookies and glass of milk ready for Santa....but then decided he wanted a bite of everything before he went to bed....I'm sure Santa appreciated the half eaten cookies. LOL Aidan went to bed and Uncle Anthony stayed home with him while Allan and I attend Midnight Mass with my family. Mass was beautiful as usual. I just love going to midnight service and seeing all the lights and smelling the insense and listening to the amazing choir with all their Christmas music. It's just something that brings back all my childhood memories of Christmas. On Christmas morning we got up not too early and opened gifts from Santa and the family. We then had a lovely breakfast and all got cleaned up and the Brinkmann's from San Antonio came to town to celebrate the rest of the day with us. So it was good to see our cousin's and catch up. We had a lovely meal that evening and I think we all ate so much we went to bed early! I'm sure the Christmas cocktails had a little to do with our tiredness. :) Aidan got so many nice gifts he was overwhelmed with what to play with! He got a remote race care that he just loves, roller skates, a bike with trainig wheels, some cute clothes, a Dr. kit, a leapfrog Tag for reading, and tons of other things. This was the first year Aidan really understood Christmas...he knew that it was baby Jesus's birthday, he knew if we was good Santa would come visit him and he knew what presents were! HA! And let me tell you, that kid LOVES to open up presents!!

We ended up staying in Austin until after Aidan's birthday so we got to see everyone quite a bit. It was so nice to see our families that much over the holidays.
